While we endeavour to process requests within 10 business days, an applicant's previous address history, previous police contact, and unpredictable increases in demand for this service, depending on the time of year, can result in processing delays of several weeks. The following delays may be expected:
Negative Criminal Information Requests (an applicant who has no criminal involvement) - DRP is currently processing these requests within 10 business days from date of application. It should be noted that the response time could be delayed if the applicant has resided outside of the Durham Region within the past five years.
Positive Criminal Information Requests (an applicant who has criminal involvement) - Positive requests may take longer than the current 10 business days from date of application.
