A female is in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Vehicle in Whitby

A 23-year-old female has life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a vehicle.

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, at approximately 6:20 a.m., members from Central West Division responded to a female being struck by a vehicle at Consumer Drive just east of Paisley Court in Whitby.  A 23-year-old female had just exited a bus and was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle, which is believed to have run a red light.  The vehicle that struck the female fled the scene and was last seen westbound on Victoria Street West from Brock Street South. 

The female pedestrian was transported to a Toronto-area trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are looking for a 2010 four-door silver Jaguar XF with possible damage to the front passenger-side corner.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
