Community Invited to Celebrate 50th Anniversary of DRPS

Join us for a special community event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Durham Regional Police Service. This free, family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, games, and an opportunity to meet and interact with local police officers. It's a day to honor the dedication and service of DRPS over the past five decades.

This event will provide residents with a ‘behind the scenes’ look at policing over the last 50 years. This event is fully accessible and all are welcome.

We will also be accepting non-perishable food donations to cram-a-cruiser in support of local food banks.

When: Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Where: Iroquois Park Sports Centre  

            500 Victoria St W, Whitby, ON L1N 9G4

Who:  This event is open to all community members. Everyone is welcome!

 

Event Highlights:

Opening Ceremony: 10:00 AM - A special ceremony featuring the DRPS Pipes and Drums, the DRPS Choir with greetings from the Chief of Police, Peter Moreira.

Meet & Greet: Throughout the day - Interact with officers, see police vehicles, and learn about various police units, including demonstrations from the DRPS K9 Unit and Tactical Support Unit.

Live Entertainment: Two for the Show will provide live music and entertainment.

Food & Refreshments: Food will be available for purchase, featuring local food trucks.

Historical Exhibit: A display show-casing the history and evolution of DRPS.
