DRPS' CopShop 2024 - Pickering
DRPS members joined forces with the Shops at Pickering City Centre for the 19th annual Cop Shop on Wednesday December 4, 2024.
This year the event brought smiles to 27 participating kids, and warmed the hearts of all involved in this wonderful community event.
DRPS Chief Moreira welcomed members and participants as they sat down for a complimentary pizza lunch provided by East Side Mario’s. Organizers Jennifer Husain and Cst. Robin Roychoudhury thanked all members for volunteering in this year’s Cop Shop before sending them off to see the big man himself – Santa!
Children were partnered with a DRPS member before setting off to find the perfect presents!
The children chosen for Cop Shop are selected from recommendations based on need, recognition of specific academic or sports achievement or because of volunteer efforts that are making a difference in the community.
The Shops at Pickering City Centre generously provided each kid with a $200 gift card, stocking and voucher to have their photos with Santa.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. A special thank you to Boyer Auto Group for providing transportation and drivers to get everyone to the mall, East Side Mario’s for providing lunch and The Shops at Pickering City Centre for the gift cards. This event would not be possible without community businesses stepping in.
There is still time to donate to the DRPS Food & Toy Drive if you are able. Donations of non-perishable food and unwrapped toys at and DRPS division.
