DRPS Hosting Gowns for Grads Event This Weekend

The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) will once again be hosting its annual Gowns for Grads event, aimed at helping local youth prepare for their graduation celebrations with confidence and style.

This community initiative provides dresses and accessories free of charge to students who may not otherwise have the means to participate in prom or graduation events. With some gowns costing upwards of $800—and additional costs for shoes, hair, and accessories—Gowns for Grads helps alleviate the financial burden many students face.

To make this event even more accessible to students, Durham Region Transit will be providing a free shuttle bus from the Oshawa Centre to the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The last shuttle bus will leave G.L. Roberts at approximately 1:45 p.m.

What:        Gowns for Grads

When:       Saturday, April 26, 2025

                  9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where:     G.L. Roberts Collegiate and Vocational Institute

                 399 Chaleur Avenue, Oshawa, ON

                 A free DRT shuttle bus will be available running from the Oshawa Centre to                                             

                 from 10am-2pm. Pick up will be in the parking south of the bus loop.
