DRPS Welcomes 13 New Special Constables

DRPS recently welcomed 13 new special constables at a ceremony in Oshawa.

They were sworn in and presented with their badges from Deputy Chief Kim Yeandle. Special Constables have a very important function within DRPS, ensuring the security and safety of individuals in our custody as well as the courtroom. What they are about to embark on is a tough job, and we are proud of them for choosing this profession within our organization.

“Congratulations to all and welcome to the Durham Regional Police Service. You will be faced with challenging situations and encounter people from various backgrounds. I encourage you all to strive for excellence each day and to fulfill your duties with pride, humility and dignity,” said Deputy Yeandle.

Thank you to The Honourable Justice John F. Adamson, DRPS Police Service Board Vice-Chair Garry Cubitt and Board Member Willie Woo for being part of this important event in support of our new members.
