Eight Arrested After Drug Investigation Leads to Handguns and Drugs
Seven adults and one youth are facing charges after the conclusion of a drug investigation that led to two handguns and numerous drugs being seized.
On Friday, October 11, 2024, members of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals involved in drug trafficking, and with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit (TSU), conducted search warrants on a residence, as well as multiple vehicles, in the area of Delaney Drive and Westney Road North, in Ajax. Seven adult males, and one male youth, were located in the residence and taken into custody without incident.
A search of the residence located two loaded handguns, with an over capacity magazine, extended magazine, and fully automatic selector switch, as well as two kilograms of cocaine, a quantity of fentanyl, and hydromorphone.

Cyril John DASILVA, age 52 from Pickering is charged with: Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Dilaudid), Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x2, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x2, Possess Prohibited/Restricted Device x3, and Possess Firearm Contrary to Order.
John Junior DASILVA, age 28 from Trenton is charged with: Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Dilaudid), Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x2, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x2, Possess Prohibited/Restricted Device x3, and Possess Firearm Contrary to Order x2.

A 14-year-old male from Oshawa is charged with: Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Dilaudid), Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x2, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x2, and Possess Prohibited/Restricted Device x3.
The seven adult males were held for a bail hearing. The 14-year-old male was released on an Undertaking.
