This week the R.I.D.E. team faced some challenging weather, and yet still removed eight drivers from our roadways for impaired driving offences. The danger of impaired driving coupled with challenging road conditions is a recipe for disaster. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure these drivers were caught. Several joint R.I.D.E. lines occurred in partnership with the O.P.P Highway Safety Division and M.A.D.D. Durham Region. We remind motorists that we are working every night and impaired driving is never worth it – make the right choice, plan ahead and drive sober.

A complete list of those charged with Impaired/Exceed will be posted on our website at www.drps.ca under R.I.D.E. Results.

Note: Under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, anyone charged with a criminal impaired driving offence will have their driver’s licence suspended for ninety days and their vehicle impounded automatically for seven days.
