This week of R.I.D.E. saw DRPS officers working alongside our partners from the O.P.P. Highway Safety Division in Whitby and Toronto ensuring roadway safety across our Region.

One notable event was the arrest of a food delivery driver who dropped off an order over two hours late, only to pass out in his vehicle shortly thereafter. This party faces several charges including impaired operation of a conveyance.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) came out with officers this week to thank the majority of drivers for driving sober, and remind everyone that the impact of their choices can be long lasting – please enjoy the holiday season responsibly.

If you suspect an impaired driver please call 911.

A complete list of those charged with Impaired/Exceed will be posted on our website at www.drps.ca

Note: Under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, anyone charged with a drinking and driving criminal offence will have their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded automatically for seven days.
