Firearm and Drugs Found During Stolen Vehicle Investigation in Oshawa

Two males are facing charges after they were found in a stolen vehicle with a firearm and drugs in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., a member of DRPS was on proactive patrol when they observed a suspiciously parked SUV and RV in the area of King Street West and Park Road South.  Further checks of the RV registration confirmed it was stolen.  During the investigation two males exited the RV and fled from officers on foot.  After a short foot pursuit, one suspect was taken into custody without incident.  The second suspect was located attempting to hide in the rear of the SUV and was also taken into custody without incident.  A search of the vehicles located a rifle, ammunition, and several drugs.

Jonathan ENGLEHART, age 37 from Prescott is charged with: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (crack cocaine), and Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (hydromorphone).

Jesse HOLMES, age 34 from Oshawa is charged with: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (crack cocaine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (hydromorphone), and Improper Storage of a Firearm.
