Firehouse Subs Bowmanville donates to our K-9 Unit
Firehouse Subs Bowmanville recently made a generous donation of $15,482 to our K-9 Unit. This donation will go towards purchasing essential equipment, including three new bite suits, two bite sleeves, new harnesses and training aids that will help keep the K-9 Unit in top shape as they train for real-life scenarios.
The K-9 Unit plays a crucial role within DRPS by providing valuable support for a range of activities, including search and rescue, tracking, and evidence retrieval. The unit's dogs and handlers are highly trained and dedicated to serving their community, and the equipment they use is vital to their success. The three new bite suits, including one specially made for female officers, will help the unit's dogs and handlers train effectively and stay safe. The bite sleeves will allow handlers to train the PSD’s without risking injury.
Our K-9 Unit is grateful for the support of Firehouse Subs Bowmanville and their Public Safety Foundation of Canada. Their donation will make a real difference to the unit and its ability to serve the community.
