Four Arrested After Home Invasion in Oshawa

Two adults and two youth have been arrested after a home invasion in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call at a residence in the area of Ritson Road South and Valley Drive.  Multiple males forced their way into a residence assaulting one of the home owners, while brandishing firearms.  The suspects proceeded to the basement of the residence where another resident of the home was assaulted.  The suspects demanded money from the victims before fleeing the area in a stolen vehicle. 

The first victim sustained serious injuries, the second victim sustained minor injuries, and the third victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

Police searched the area and located the stolen vehicle a short distance away.  The suspect vehicle was tracked driving toward a dead end before all suspects fled on foot.  Officers, with the assistance of Air1 and the K9 Unit, located four suspects, who were taken into custody.

A fifth suspect is outstanding.

Charles WEIR, age 36 of No Fixed Address is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, Making an Automatic Firearm, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, Break-and-Enter, Utter Death Threats x3, Disguise with Intent, Robbery with Violence, Use of Firearm During Offence, Flight from Peace Officer, and Possession Contrary to Order x2.

Roshane Patrick STEPHENS, age 28 from Toronto is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, Making an Automatic Firearm, Possess Prohibited Ammunition, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, Break-and-Enter, Utter Death Threats x3, Disguise with Intent, Robbery with Violence, and Use of Firearm During Offence.

A 17-year-old male from Toronto is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, Making an Automatic Firearm, Possess Prohibited Ammunition, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, Break-and-Enter, Utter Death Threats x3, Disguise with Intent, Robbery with Violence, Use of Firearm During Offence, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

A 16-year-old male from Toronto is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, Making an Automatic Firearm, Possess Prohibited Ammunition, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault with a Weapon, Break-and-Enter, Utter Death Threats x3, Disguise with Intent, Robbery with Violence, Use of Firearm During Offence, and Fail to Comply with Sentence x2.

All were held for a bail hearing.
