Handgun with 9 mm Overcapacity Drum Magazine Seized During Arrest in Oshawa

A handgun with a 9 mm overcapacity drum magazine and a stolen vehicle has been seized after a male was arrested while attempting to flee police in Oshawa.

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of Central East Division attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle, however, the driver failed to stop and fled the area.  With the support of Air1, officers were able to locate the vehicle parked a short distance away.  As they approached the vehicle, the driver fled the area on foot.  After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.  A loaded handgun with a prohibited overcapacity drum magazine was located and seized.  Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen.

Quintin CAMPBELL, age 20 from Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Loaded Firearm, Possess Firearm No Licence, Dangerous Operation, Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm, Flight from Police, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Possession Contrary to Order, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

He was held for a bail hearing.
