Honouring Fallen Officers at the Police Memorial
Today, DRPS members joined our policing families from across Ontario to honour fallen officers at the Ontario Police Memorial.
This year, DRPS Constable Vicki Lynn Wilson was added to the Wall of Honour after her on duty death which was the result of a medical episode in 1992. A four-year member of the Service, Cst. Wilson joined as a cadet at the age of 18 and was a respected police officer who was also involved in the Special Olympics Torch Run.
Four other fallen officers were added to the memorial this year:
Constable Andrew Hong, Toronto Police Service
Constable Devon Northrup, South Simcoe Police Service
Constable Morgan Russell, South Simcoe Police Service
Provincial Constable Grzegorz Pierzchala, OPP
DRPS members were honoured to attend and remember the sacrifice of these #heroesinlife.
Thank you to all who attended, including Cst. Wilson’s family.
