Male and Female Arrested for Possessing Stolen Vehicle in Oshawa
A male and female have been arrested after causing multiple collisions in a stolen vehicle in Oshawa.
On Friday, May 24, 2024, at approximately 3:20 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to numerous impaired driving calls in the area of Ritson Road North and King Street East. A silver Toyota sedan, occupied by a male and female, struck multiple vehicles before fleeing the area.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., East Division officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the area of Harmony Road North and Taunton Road East. A male and female, matching the description of the occupants from the collisions, parked a severely damaged vehicle in a parking lot and fled the area on foot. Investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Waterloo. Officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, searched the area and located the suspects a short distance away hiding in bushes. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Ashley MACKINNON, age 26 of No Fixed Address is charged with: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Operation While Prohibited, Drive Motor Vehicle No Licence, Careless Driving, and Fail to Remain at Accident.
Jessie MARESCH, age 33 from Kitchener is charged with: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
Both parties were released on an Undertaking.
