Male and Female Killed in Oshawa

A 42-year-old male and a 42-year-old female have died after being shot in Oshawa.

On Saturday, July 13, 2024 at approximately 12:35 p.m., members from Central East Division received a radio call for sounds of gunshots in the area of Jane Avenue and Glenforest Street in Oshawa.  Officers arrived on scene and located a 42-year-old male who had been shot.  Attempts were made to transport him to hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries prior to the transport being completed.

Officers received information on scene that led them to a secondary address on Glenforest Street.  Upon entering the residence officers located a 42-year-old female who had also been shot.  She was pronounced deceased on scene.

A 30-year-old male was taken into custody at the secondary address without incident.

The suspect is known to both victims however the motive behind the murders is still under investigation.  This is not a domestic related incident. 

The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
