Male Arrested After Firearm and Drugs Located in Vehicle
A male is facing firearm and drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Port Perry.
On Friday, March 21, 2025, members from North Division Community Response Team were on proactive patrol when they located a suspicious vehicle in the area of Island Road and The Mississaugas Trail. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers observed drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the vehicle located a shotgun, a quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Eric Young, age 36 from Markham is charged with numerous offences, including: Possess Firearm Without Holding a Licence; Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine; fentanyl) x4 ; Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has Been Tampered With and Disobeying Order of Court
He was held for a bail hearing.
