Male Arrested After Human Trafficking Investigation in Oshawa

A male is facing multiple charges following a human trafficking investigation in Oshawa.

In January 2025, DRPS received information about a female being trafficked in Oshawa. Members of the Human Trafficking Unit began an extensive investigation which led to the identification of both the victim and accused.  

On Wednesday April 23, 2025, members of the DRPS Human Trafficking Unit executed Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances search warrants at a residence in the area of Park Road South and Johnson Avenue in Oshawa. The male was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of evidence to support human trafficking as well as a quantity of unregulated cannabis.

Police believe the accused may have been targeting victims working in retail establishments and are concerned there may be additional victims.

Adrian AUSTIN, age 39, of Oshawa is charged with multiple offences, including: Trafficking in Persons; Material Benefits from Sexual Services; Procuring/Exercising Control; Possess Cannabis For The Purpose Of Selling and Possess Of Cannabis For The Purpose Of Distributing.

He was held for a bail hearing.
