Male Arrested after Robbery in Whitby

A 28-year-old male is in custody after he intentionally used a blow torch in an attempted robbery in Whitby.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at approximately 5:55 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to a robbery call in the area of Dundas Street West and Annes Street. The victim was walking when they were approached by the suspect who was holding a lit blow torch demanding their personal property. The victim was able to fight back and escape. No physical injuries were reported.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident a short distance away.

London BOSSIO, age 28 of Whitby is charged with: Robbery; Assault With A Weapon and Breach Of Probation.

 He was held for a bail hearing
