Male Arrested for Armed Robbery in Oshawa
A male has been arrested after an investigation into an armed robbery in Oshawa.
On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at approximately 12:10 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to a robbery at the One Stop Trading convenience store, located at 30 Park Road North. A male entered the store and took vape products without paying. When an employee confronted the suspect for payment, the suspect showed the employee a firearm in his waistband and exited. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
On Thursday, July 4, 2024, the Robbery Unit concluded their investigation and took the suspect into custody without incident. A search of the suspect also revealed numerous drugs in his possession.
James Daniel ELLIOT, age 21 from Oshawa is charged with: Robbery Using a Firearm, Possess Weapon Dangerous to the Public x2, Trespass by Night, Unlawful Possession of Identity Data, Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking (methamphetamine), Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking (fentanyl), Fail to Comply with Probation Order x3, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking x2.
