Male Arrested in Historical Sexual Assault

A 66-year-old male has been arrested for sexual assaults occurring from 1996 to present.

In February, 2024, members of the DRPS Central West Criminal Investigations Branch started an investigation into historical sexual assaults involving a minor. The victim, now an adult, came forward to police to report a history of sexual assaults that had taken place between the years of 1996 to present. As a result of the investigation, the male was arrested by police on October 9, 2024.

A 66-year-old male from Oshawa is charged with numerous offences, including: Sexual Assault x4 and Sexual Exploitation.

He was held for a bail hearing.

The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim. Police believe this to be isolated.
