Male Arrested with Loaded Handgun in Oshawa

A 22-year-old male was arrested with a loaded handgun following a drug and firearm investigation in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025 members of the Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit completed an investigation into drug trafficking and unlawful firearms. The suspect was arrested at a shopping plaza in the area of Laval Drive and Stevenson Road South. During the arrest officers located a loaded semi-automatic firearm in his jacket.

A search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence in the area of Dean Avenue and Normandy Street, resulting in the seizure of an over-capacity magazine, more than 240g of cocaine and more than 350g of fentanyl with a street value in excess of $100,000.

Antonio NIKOLAKAKIS, age 22, of Oshawa is charged with: Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm; Possess Prohibited Device Knowing No Authority and Possess Schedule I Substance for Trafficking x2 (fentanyl and cocaine).

He was held for a bail hearing.
