Male Charged with Attempted Murder After Two Violent Stabbings and an assault in Oshawa

A male is facing attempted murder charges after two separate violent stabbings and an assault in Oshawa.

On Thursday, August 29, 2024, at approximately 2:05 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of John Street West and Nassau Street.  A male assaulted a female before stabbing another male and fleeing the area.  The female sustained minor injuries.  The male victim was located suffering from serious stab wounds and was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre in life-threatening condition.  Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

On Thursday, August 29, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the same area.  The same suspect stabbed another male and fled the area.  The victim was located suffering from serious stab wounds and was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition.  Police searched the area and located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.

Lucais Joseph DAYTON, age 22 of No Fixed Address is charged with: Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault x2, Assault, Assault with a Weapon x4, Carry Concealed Weapon x2, Possess Weapon for Committing Offence x4, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x11.

He was held for a bail hearing.
