Male Charged with Attempted Murder in Oshawa
A male is in custody for attempted murder after he repeatedly stabbed a female in a domestic related assault at an Oshawa residence.
On Sunday, May 12, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Cedar Street and Wentworth Street West. A male got into an altercation with a female and stabbed her repeatedly while inside their residence. The victim was able to flee the residence and run to a neighbouring home. Police arrived on scene and took the male into custody without incident.
The victim was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A 42-year-old male from Oshawa is charged with: Attempt Murder, Forcible Confinement, Uttering Threats, and Possess Weapon Dangerous to the Public.
He was held for a bail hearing.
The accused’s name has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
