Male Facing Charges for Assault with a Weapon in Oshawa
A male is facing charges after threatening and chasing another male with a knife outside a restaurant in Oshawa.
On Saturday, May 11, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Athol Street East and Celina Street. A male attended a local restaurant but was asked to leave by the owner. Once outside the suspect got into an altercation with another male. The suspect revealed a large knife and chased the victim around the parking lot. Police arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody without incident.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
Daniel DEMASI, age 28 from Richmond Hill is charged with: Assault with a Weapon, Possess Weapon Dangerous to the Public, and Possession of Schedule I Substance (cocaine).
He was released on an Undertaking.
