Male Facing Sexual Assault Charges Against a 13-Year-Old Victim

A male from Brampton is facing sexual assault charges after a 13-year-old reported being sexually assaulted.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Investigators from the Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) commenced an investigation involving a 13-year-old female who was reported to have been sexually assaulted by a 36-year-old male in the North Durham area.

Investigators identified the male, and on Thursday, October 31, 2024, members of the Offender Management Unit (OMU) took the male into custody without incident.

Jason BENT age 36 of Brampton, is charged with Sexual Assault; Sexual Interference; Invitation to Sexual Touching; Agreement to Commit an Offence Against a Person Under the Age of 18 Years; Agreement to Commit an Offence Against a Person Under 16; and Possession of Child Pornography.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators are committed to ensuring there are no further victims and are appealing to any potential witnesses to come forward with any information they may have.  The accused is known to frequent the London, Barrie, and Greater Toronto Areas.
