Male in Custody After Threatening Female and Police in Bowmanville
A male is in custody after he threatened a female and brandished a knife toward police in Bowmanville.
On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., members of East Division, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit, responded to a death threat call in the area of Bowmanville Avenue and Hartwell Avenue. A male harassed and made death threats toward a female. Police arrived on scene and located the suspect, who immediately brandished a knife and began making threats toward officers. Officers successfully de-escalated the situation and took the suspect into custody without incident.
Miguel PALACIOS-FERMAN, age 69 from Bowmanville is charged with: Utter Death Threats x2, Assault with a Weapon x2, Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public, and Criminal Harassment.
He was held for a bail hearing.
