Male in Custody Following Gas Station Robbery in Oshawa
A male is in custody after using a knife to rob a gas station in Oshawa.
On Thursday, March 21, 2024, at approximately 3:15 a.m., members of Central East Division, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, responded to a robbery call at the Esso Gas Station located at 20 Park Road South. A male suspect entered the gas station and brandished a knife toward an employee. The suspect stole a case of lottery tickets and fled the area prior to police arrival. A K9 track led officers to a residence nearby, where police confirmed the suspect was inside. The male exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
Nathan PADDOCK, age 36 from Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Possess Weapon for Committing Offence, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Possession of Identity Information x2, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2.
He was held for a bail hearing.
