Officers help locate the perfect presents
DRPS members joined forces with the Pickering Town Centre for the 17th Annual Cop Shop.
This year the event brought smiles to 50 participating kids, and warmed the hearts of all involved in this wonderful community event.
Deputy Chief Maiorano welcomed members and participants as they sat down for a complimentary pizza lunch provided by East Side Mario’s. Organizer Cst. Robin Roychoudhury thanked all members for volunteering in this year’s CopShop before sending them off to see the big man himself – Santa!
Children were partnered with a DRPS member before heading off to find the perfect presents!
The children chosen for CopShop are selected from recommendations based on need, recognition of specific academic or sports achievement or because of volunteer efforts that are making a difference in the community.
The Pickering Town Centre generously provided each kid with a $200 gift card, stocking, voucher to have their photos with Santa and free gift wrapping. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible.
