Pedestrian Struck in Oshawa
A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a collision in the area of Rossland Road West and Simcoe Street North. A pick-up truck, being driven by a 20-year-old female, was southbound on Simcoe Street North attempting to turn right at Rossland Road West, when it struck a 21-year-old female who was crossing the street. The driver of the pick-up truck stopped and assisted the pedestrian while waiting for police.
The 21-year-old female was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
Members of the DRPS - Collision Investigation Unit (CIU), attended the scene and investigated the circumstances of the incident. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.
