Plunge with DRPS to support Special Olympics
DRPS is hosting our annual Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics.
The Polar Plunge is a fun opportunity to support Special Olympics Ontario athletes by taking a flying leap – a leap into very cold water.
Last year’s event raised $26,000 to support more than 23,000 Special Olympics athletes across Ontario. We are inviting everyone to join us this year and help us reach our goal of raising $40,000. If you are ready to take the plunge, you can enter individually or as a team. Everyone is welcome! Registration is $40 or fundraise $100 to waive the registration fee.
This year, the entire DRPS Command team will be braving the icy water. Chief Peter Moreira, Deputy Chiefs Bertrim, Kirkpatrick and Yeandle and CAO MacLellan will all take the plunge to raise money for Special Olympics. If you would like to sponsor the DRPS command team please click here:
The Durham Regional Police “Freezin for a Reason" plunge will take place Tuesday March 19 at the Tribute Communities (99 Athol Street East, Oshawa). Partcipants will be plunging into a bin outside the main entrance on Athol Street. Check-in starts at 10:00 a.m. and plunging starts at 11:00 a.m.. All registrants must check in before plunging.
Are you brrr-ave enough?
