Police Appealing for Witnesses After Arson in Pickering
Police are appealing for witnesses following an arson at a Pickering residence.
On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m., members of West Division responded to a fire in the area of Granby Court and Altona Road where a front door of a residence was fully engulfed in flames. The homeowner, who was not at home at the time, was able to alert the sole occupant at the time of the fire after observing it on their doorbell camera. Fire identified that an accelerant was used to start the fire.
Further investigation revealed a suspect placing a flaming item in the middle of the front porch. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
No physical injuries were reported to police as a result of the arson.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone who may have video footage, including home surveillance or dashcam, to please contact police.
