Police Appealing for Witnesses in Arson in Whitby

Police are appealing for witnesses after an arson in Whitby early Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at approximately 1:20 a.m., members from Central West Division responded to an arson in the area of Rivers Edge Place and Fairmount Drive. Officers arrived on scene and located an active fire on the front porch of a residence. Police used their fire extinguisher to put out the fire. A small container filled with an ignitable fluid was seen on the porch, and a window of the residence was broken.

There were no physical injuries reported.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with video footage, including dash cam or home surveillance, to contact investigators.
