Police Looking to Identify Suspect in Sexual Assault
Police are searching for a male suspect after a sexual assault in Whitby.
On Sunday, January 12, 2025 at approximately 4:05 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to the area of Victoria Street East and Thickson Road South after a victim reported being sexually assaulted. The victim was in the area of Simcoe Street South and Hall Street in Oshawa at approximately 2:30 a.m., when she was approached by a male suspect who offered her a ride.
The suspect drove the victim to the area of Moore Court and William Smith Drive in Whitby, where he sexually assaulted her.
The suspect is described as: male, Brown, 40-50 years of age, large build, black beard. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
The suspect vehicle is described as a newer black pickup truck with automatic running boards and black leather seats. The victim reported seeing construction helmets in the back seat.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with video footage, including dash cam, from the area of Simcoe Street South between Olive Avenue and Highway 401 from January 12, 2025 between 2:15 a.m. and 3:15 a.m., to please contact police.
