Public Tips Lead to Counterfeit Currency Suspect
Tips from the public have helped to identify a male wanted for using counterfeit currency at a Wal-Mart in Bowmanville.
In the month of June, 2024, members of the Financial Crimes Unit (FCU) received numerous tips from the public which assisted them in identifying a male wanted for using counterfeit currency. Police have now issued a warrant for his arrest.
Kelly James OSBORNE, age 45 from Toronto is wanted for: Uttering Counterfeit Money.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the accused or has any information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Kane of the Financial Crimes Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5371.

The Durham Regional Police Service Financial Crimes Unit (FCU) wants to remind the community that counterfeit currency is still being circulated throughout the region. Everyone is encouraged to double check their bills when handling and receiving cash.
