Restaurant Owner Facing Administer Noxious Substance Charges
A restaurant owner is facing charges after two individuals have come forward to report being given a substance without knowing the contents.
On Monday, June 3, 2024, members of DRPS’ Central West Criminal Investigation Bureau concluded an investigation into allegations that a restaurant owner administered a noxious substance to two individuals on separate occasions. Two victims came forward to police and advised that the owner of Harbord Fish and Chicken, located at 201 Dundas Street West in Whitby, had given them unwrapped chocolate which caused them both to have similar side effects on their physical health. The owner was arrested without incident after police executed a search warrant at his business.
Police believe there may be other victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward to investigators.
Govindaraj KRISHNASAMY, age 48 from North York is charged with: Administer Noxious Substance/Intent to Endanger Life x2.
He was released on an Undertaking.
