The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada - Change of Command Ceremony
On September 17th, 2023, The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada conducted a Change of Command and Appointment Ceremony at Casa Loma, Toronto. Canada’s oldest continuously-serving Infantry Regiment welcomed the incoming Command Team of Lieutenant-Colonel Chris Boileau, CD and Chief Warrant Officer Justin Thorn, CD. Chris Boileau is currently a Staff Sergeant with Durham Regional Police Service.
S/Sgt. Boileau has been a member of the Canadian Armed Forces for approximately 19 years. "It is an honour and privilege to be appointed to command and entrusted with the leadership of Canada's men and women."
The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada is a Toronto-based infantry regiment within the Canadian Army Reserve. With almost 300 members, not only is the unit it one of the largest in the country, it is only one in the Reserves which trains to conduct parachuting operations. The Regiment currently has members deployed overseas in multiple countries.
