Shop with a Cop - Oshawa Centre
The second annual Shop with a Cop, in partnership with The Oshawa Centre brought holiday cheer to the participants and officers alike. On Wednesday December 6, 2024, 30 kids were partnered with an officer to search for the perfect presents!
DRPS A/Deputy Chief Courneyea welcomed members who volunteered and participants as they sat down for a complimentary breakfast provided by Baxter's Landing. Organizer Cst. Dave Lewis thanked all members for volunteering in this year’s Shop with a Cop before sending them off to see the big man himself – Santa!
The participants also received tickets to see the Oshawa Generals play over the holidays!
The children chosen for Shop with a Cop are selected from recommendations based on need, recognition of specific academic or sports achievement or because of volunteer efforts that are making a difference in the community.
The Oshawa Centre generously provided a donation and a voucher to have their photos with Santa and free gift wrapping. Thank you to Baxter's Landing, The Oshawa Centre, PADAN, Pro Action Cops for Kids and The Oshawa Generals for making this event possible.
It’s not too late to make a difference this year, the DRPS Food & Toy Drive is in full swing and donations are being accepted at all DRPS Divisions.
