Shots Fired Tuesday Evening in Oshawa

Police are looking for a suspect after multiple gunshots were fired on Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to the area of Normandy Street and Nevis Avenue, Oshawa, for multiple reports of gunshots. The victim had been sitting outside a residence, when the suspect fired at them, striking the residence. The suspect then ran into a nearby residence.

There were no physical injuries reported.

Officers arrived on scene and located multiple shell casings in the area, and bullet holes in the front of a residence. The area was searched for the suspect, who had fled the scene.


On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, members of Central East Criminal Investigations Branch executed a search warrant on the residence the accused had initially run into. Four handgun magazines and rounds were seized.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Erick GOMES, age 20, of Oshawa, for a number of offences, including: Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound, Endanger Life; Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm and Utter Threats of Death/Bodily Harm.
