Special Constable Graduation 2024
DRPS welcomed 13 new special constables yesterday in Oshawa.
They were sworn in and presented with their badges from Chief Peter Moreira. Special Constables have a very important function within DRPS, ensuring the security and safety of individuals in our custody as well as the courtroom. What they are about to embark on is a tough job, and we are proud of them for choosing this profession within our organization.
“Congratulations to all and welcome to the Durham Regional Police Service. It is an incredible honour to hand out your badges, you are choosing an incredibly important role within our organization” said Chief Moreira.
Thank you to The Honourable Justice Kathryn A. Fillier, DRPA President Andrew Tummonds, and Mayor of Oshawa Dan Carter for being part of this important event in support of our new members.
