Suspect Wanted for Cell Phone Theft in Oshawa

Police are looking for a suspect who stole a cell phone during a Facebook Marketplace sale.

On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., A male met the victim, in the area of Oxford Street and Malaga Road, in Oshawa, to purchase an iPhone 15 the victim was selling on Facebook marketplace.  When the victim handed the suspect the phone to inspect, the suspect told the victim he would grab the cash to pay for it from his car.  The suspect entered his vehicle, while still holding the phone, and fled the area. 

The suspect is described as: male, Brown, 20-28 years-old, approximately 5’7” – 5’9” tall, with black hair, a black goatee, glasses, and a medium build.
