Suspects Sought After Incendiary Devices Thrown at Residence in Oshawa

Police are seeking two suspects after two incendiary devices were thrown at a residence in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at approximately 8:40 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to the area of Valley Drive and Phillip Murray Avenue for two suspicious packages that were thrown at a residence. Two suspects arrived at the residence in a dark coloured pickup truck, which they used to break the front door of the residence. The suspects then threw a package through the front door and a second package at a window.  Officers arrived and located the two packages. Residences in the area were evacuated while members of the Explosive Device Unit (EDU) were called in to assist.

The packages were found to be incendiary devices and were rendered safe by EDU.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark coloured pickup truck with chrome trim and chrome gas cap cover.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with video footage, including home surveillance and dashcam, in the area between 8:00 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. to please contact police.
