Three Males Injured After Head-on Collision in Oshawa

Three males are recovering from injuries after a head-on collision in Oshawa.

On Sunday, July 7, 2024 at approximately 5:20 p.m., members from East Division responded to a head-on collision involving a pick-up truck and a car on Ritson Road North, south of Highway 407 in Oshawa. A white Chevrolet Silverado was southbound on Ritson Road North when it crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a red Volkswagen Jetta.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 19-year-old Oshawa male, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre where he remains in stable condition. A male passenger in the pick-up truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local area hospital. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 26-year-old Campbellford male, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local area hospital.

Alcohol may have been a factor in this collision.

Members of the DRPS - Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
