Two Arrested After Police Track Stolen Vehicle
A male and female are facing numerous charges after being arrested in a stolen rental vehicle in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at approximately 5:05 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a stolen vehicle call in the area of Hwy. 401 and Ritson Road South. A Dodge Ram pick up truck that had been reported stolen from Toronto was tracking in the Oshawa area. Officers located the vehicle in the area of Ritson Road South and Lakeview Park Avenue. Police blocked the stolen vehicle and took the occupants into custody without incident. A search of the suspects and the vehicle revealed a quantity of various drugs.
Daniel RENAUD, age 33 from Bowmanville is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl), Fail to Report SOIRA, Breach Undertaking x2, Fail to Appear x2, Breach Christophers Law, and Fail to Comply with Christophers Law.
Ashley GUNN, age 28 from Oshawa is charged with: Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine), Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine), and Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl).
Both parties were held for a bail hearing.
