Two Suspects Wanted After Distraction Theft in Whitby

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 3:15 p.m. the elderly victim was leaving the FreshCO located at 350 Brock Street South in Whitby when the male suspect approached her. As he approached the victim, he dropped a case of soda and while the elderly victim was assisting him with picking up the soda, a female suspect went into the victim’s purse and stole her wallet.

The suspects then used the victim’s cards to make various purchases.

The male suspect is described as: male, heavy build, 30-40 years of age, dark facial hair wearing a long black jacket and white running shoes. 

The female suspect is described as: female, heavy build, 30-40 years of age, wearing a long black jacket and grey scarf.

The suspects left in an unplated white Hyundai SantaFe.

Police are looking for anyone with video footage, including dashcam, to please contact police.
