Two Youth Arrested After Making Threats in Bowmanville

Two males are facing charges after they threatened another male with a knife in Bowmanville.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at approximately 2:20 p.m., members of East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Clarington Boulevard and Stevens Road.  The victim was walking when he was approached by two males in a vehicle who made threats with a knife toward him.  The victim fled from the suspects and contacted police.  The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.

A nearby secondary school was briefly placed into a hold and secure as police searched the area for the suspects.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

Further investigation linked this incident to a previous altercation involving the same parties.  Members of the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) identified both suspects, who were taken into custody without incident.

This was an isolated incident, and police have no public safety concerns.

A 16-year-old male from Clarington is charged with: Uttering Threats.

A 17-year-old male from Clarington is charged with: Uttering Threats.

Both were released on an Undertaking.
