UPDATE #1 - Shots Fired in Cannington

On Monday, December 16, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., members of North Division responded to the area of Peace Street and Davidson Street in Cannington for an armed person call.

 

Officers arrived on scene and were able to review video footage that captured the sound of gunshots. With the assistance of the K9 Unit, a search of the area was conducted and officers identified a warehouse on Davidson Drive as the target. No physical injuries have been reported at this time.

 

Further investigation by the North Division Criminal Investigations Branch led to the discovery of a Cannabis grow operation with a large quantity of plants in excess of their licence. With the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Unit and the OPP-led Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team, investigators seized just under 29,000 Cannabis plants and dried cannabis.
